Nachod — what is worth visiting?
As for Nachod, attractions can be multiplied endlessly. During its nearly 900 years of existence, the city has witnessed many important events, the echoes of which are still reflected in the medieval walls. What is worth seeing there in the first place?
Nachod: castle
Nachod Castle is one of the city's most recognizable attractions. Rebuilt to the Renaissance style and later modified many times, today it impresses no less than castles and palaces in the Kłodzko Valley. The structure is located on a wooded hill, near the market, which forms one of the oldest parts of the present town of Nachod. The castle is accessible on foot — you can reach it from the market square — or you can reach it by car. The car park is located at the rear of the buildings, about 100 meters away, on Smiřických Street.
For those wishing to see Nachod Castle, sightseeing is provided from Tuesday to Sunday and does not require prior reservation. 4 tourist routes have been prepared:
- Castle during the time of the Piccolomini family (historical interiors of the 17th and 18th centuries, visiting time about 50 minutes).
- Castle during the time of the Schaumburg-Lippe family (sightseeing of the second floor with interiors stylized as the 19th century, visiting time about 50 minutes).
- Tower (open only in nice weather, sightseeing includes a defensive tower with dungeons, lasts about 30 min).
- Sightseeing for children (special excursion for children visiting the exhibition Ducal Manor, sightseeing time about 30 min). After it, you can go again to the nearby reserve, where centered daubs and mouflons live, whose fame runs far beyond Nachod. The “Lanový park Hopstráda” rope park is a short walk away.
Nachod Castle can only be visited with a Czech guide. For Polish-speaking tourists, however, a text in Polish was prepared.
Nachod: market
If you visit Nachod and the castle, visiting the market is another must-see tour point! Although the square itself is not very large, and a good part of its motherboard is a parking lot, it is undoubtedly worth seeing. There is, among others, one of the oldest churches in Nakhoda — the Church of Saint Lawrence (14th century), as well as the Baroque church of St Michael. In the market you can also see 2 town halls, including one from the beginning of the 20th century, visit the Gallery of Fine Arts and see the Art Nouveau building of the hotel “U Beránka”, which also houses the city theater.
Nachod: brewery
Not far from the Old Town there is another interesting place that is worth seeing when visiting Nachod. The brewery, because it is mentioned, was founded in 1872. Since then, however, a lot has changed and today it is classified as one of the most modern establishments of its kind in the Czech Republic. Moreover, this place can be visited! Such a tour takes about 60 minutes and allows you to get acquainted with both the brewery's activities (the tour route goes through the bottling plant, brewhouse, fermentation halls and cellars) and its history. But beware! The desire to visit must be reported at least 7 days in advance!

Is it possible to pay in Nachoda?
Nachod is located in the Czech Republic, where the Czech koruna applies. In some stores, however, you can pay in other currencies, including zlotys. However, it is always necessary to make sure that there is such a possibility before shopping.
